I Suppose it’s Mandatory For This Time of Year

We went trick or treating. I asked the little guy what he wanted to be for Halloween about a month ago and without hesitation, he said, “Policeman.” I’m pretty sure it’s because of the siren noise he got to make. But with navy pants and a collared (girls) shirt from Goodwill for $5, we made it work. A badge/handcuffs/gun set from the dollar store brought our total cost to $6. I spray painted his rain boots a shiny black, and I think the get-up turned out pretty good!

The best part of the whole thing, though, was at the first house when he realized the woman was giving him a whole bunch of candy. He turned to me with a look that said, “This is the most awesome thing ever!”

It’s probably on his top 10 list of life experiences. Which, let’s be honest, he’s three.
