That’s right. Whether it’s a pricey confection from a cupcakery, a grocery store special with seasonally tinted frosting or a good old homemade birthday cupcake, there is a better way. Instead of simply opening your yapper as wide as you can before shoving that frosting-topped bit of cake down your gullet, do this:

Break the “muffin top” portion off the top of the cupcake.

Turn it upside down and place it on top of the bottom half of the cupcake.

  1. Not gonna lie. I love the method that leaves you with a “sickeningly sweet top” at the end. I do it on purpose and basically power through the base to get to that frosting overload ratio.
